Public schools top institutional list for respect and confidence

A Gallup survey conducted April 10-16, 1997 found that 55% of Canadians have respect and confidence in Canada's public schools, up from 44% in 1993. Forty-six percent of Canadians had a high level of respect and confidence in the Supreme Court and 44% felt similarly about churches and organized religion. Political parties were held in less esteem with only 10% of the public feeling a high level of respect and confidence in them.
