Abstract

The point and interval estimation of the survivor function for a geometric distribution is discussed. The performance of the uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator and maximum likelihood estimator becomes equivalent to the relative mean square error when devices are greater than or equal to 50. The interval estimator was found to perform better than other asymptotic estimators when failure probability exceeds a certain value.
