Automobile drivers using cellular telephones are nothing but nuisances in Asian countries. Despite numerous studies proving that cell phone use while driving may cause traffic accidents, statistics from the Singapore police shows that traffic accidents involving cell phone use account for only six of the 14,397 accidents in 1996. Singapore Transport Department official Raymond Ho maintains that the 'cellular driving menace' may not be a serious threat after all.
