Abstract

The role of RNA transfer protein structures as a requirement in modifying enzyme binding, catalysis, and recognition was analyzed through inhibitory studies of structural variants of yeast tRNAasp and Escherichia coli tRNAleu. Results have shown that sequence G36pG37 is an essential identity element particularly in relation to substrate yields of heterologous tRNA species.
