Highly efficient incorporation of functional groups into aromatic main-chain polymer using iridium-catalyzed C-H activation and Suzuki-Miyaura reaction

A combination of an iridium-catalyzed C-H activation/borylation and the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction is used to develop a new synthetic method for the introduction of functional groups into polysulfone. A new family of functionalized polysulfones prepared from highly efficient and mild postfunctionalization method could find wide application in new high-performance engineering plastic materials.
