Abstract

Research shows that the novel fly toxin Sapecin B inhibits the flow of potassium in clonal rat GH3 pituitary cells. Whole cell voltage-clamp techniques were used to measure the inhibitory effect of sapecin B in 20 nanomolar concentrations on the calcium-activated potassium current. Increased inhibition occurred with increasing Sapecin B dosage.
