The changing determinants of schooling investments: evidence from villages in the Philippines, 1985-89 and 2002-04

Farm income is seen as the most important source of fund for school investment during the regime of low income in the Philippines during the late 1980s. The shift away from farms to non-farm activities and the pursuit of higher education by these rural children saw the pawning of land as the main source of educational funds in the early 2000s.
