Abstract

The resulting electro-optical (EO) characteristics of various pretilt angles are measured and compared to the EO characteristics of a conventional in-plane switching (IPS)-liquid crystal display (LCD). The vertically aligned twisted nematic IPS (VPS)-LCDs have overcome many viewing angle and transmittance curve problems, whereas multidomain vertical alignment LCDs and IPS-LCDs have resolved only one problem.
