Once again, liberals garner support of nearly half the electorate

Abstract

At the national level 48% of Canadians will vote for a Liberal party candidate according to a Jul 22-27, 1997 Gallup survey. This is up from 42% in Jun 1997. The support for Tories has correspondingly fallen from 16% to 13%. Other parties have a steady support base. Ontario shows the most support for Liberals with 61% and only 13% support the Reform party. Reform has 46% support in British Columbia compared to 29% for Liberals.
