Abstract
- Results of a Gallup poll of 1000 Canadian adults, conducted July 22-27, 1997, show that 18% of those polled have personal knowledge of cases of child abuse. The figures range from 16% of Canadians on the Atlantic to 20% of those in British Columbia. The survey found the likeliest people to have knowledge of child abuse are young female Canadians, with 26% acknowledging personal awareness of such incidences.
