- An excerpt from the book 'Last Chance: Preserving Life on Earth' is presented, discussing coal as a dirty energy source and how coal-fired power plants expose nearby residents to radiation. It also discusses coal' environmental impact and reveals that there is no carbon capture and sequestration system in a single coal-fired power plant in the U.S.
