Abstract

An electrochemical analysis of the synthesis and the structural, redox and magnetic characteristics of asymmetric diiron complexes mimicking the binding of a single terminal tyrosinate was conducted. Findings showed that the introduction of the single terminal phenolate had a drastic influence on the redox properties of the complexes resulting in the thermodynamic destabilization of the diferrous state which was higher than the stabilization of the diferric state.
