Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted March 10-16, 1997, found that 52% of decided Canadian voters support Jean Chretien's Liberal Party. In recent months, the Liberals have enjoyed the support of half or over half of Canadian voters. The Liberal Party holds the lead in all of the regions by varying degrees, holding the smallest size lead in Quebec (47%) with six percentage points over the Bloc Quebecois Party (41%).
