Abstract
- A Gallup survey conducted on March 10-16, 1997, found that 45% of Canadian voters approve of Prime Minister Jean Chretien, 34% disapprove, while 21% are undecided. This finding is consistent with the pattern of the last two months, which shows that support for Chretien has been below 50%. Residents in Quebec continue to register the lowest approval rates (30%) while in Ontario, the highest approval rates (54%) are registered this month. Chretien garners stronger approval rates among younger age groups than among older ones.
