Abstract
- A Gallup survey conducted Jan 16-21, 1997, found that 53% of decided Canadian adults support Jean Chretien's Liberal Party compared to 54% last month and 58% in November. The Liberals have a lead in all the regions, with the smallest lead in Quebec. Forty-four percent of Quebec residents support the Liberals compared to 39% who support the Block Quebecois. Jean Charest's Progressive Conservative Party holds second place to the Liberals.
