Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted Feb 13-18, 1997, found 51% of decided Canadian voters support Jean Chretien's Liberal Party, compared to 53% last month. Thirty-three percent of Canadians remained undecided. On a regional basis, the strongest support for Chretien's Liberals comes from Atlantic Canada (71%) and Ontario (65%). Quebec residents said 54% of them support the Bloc Quebecois, while 34% support the Liberal Party. This is a change from last month when 44% of Quebec residents supported the Liberals and 39% supported the Bloc Quebecois.
