Abstract
- A Gallup survey conducted Feb 13-18, 1997, found 44% of Canadians approve of Prime Minister Jean Chretien, down from 49% in January and 53% in December. Thirty-four percent of Canadians approve of the Prime Minister, and 21% are undecided. Ontario, the only region where the majority of residents approved of the Prime Minister, reported a 61% approval rate. All the other regions reported marginally higher approval rates, except for Quebec. Twenty-three percent of Quebec residents approve of Chretien, while 51% disapprove.
