- Objective: To compare tension-free open mesh hernioplasty with total extra-peritoneal (TEP) laparoscopic hernia repair. Design: A prospective comparative study of 120 patients with inguinal hernias. Setting: Department of Surgery, Medical College Hospital, Kolkata between January 2005 and July 2008.
