Letting them down gently: conceptual advances in explaining controversial organizational policies

Effective managerial explanations to company's controversial policies are examined by deriving psychological approaches and theories that determine factors influencing employees positive acceptance of a policy as a result of an effective managerial explanation. Situational and intrapersonal variables are also examined relative to employee's processing of managerial explanations. However, variables considered are rather limited, an area which future research may explore.
