Microwave tunability in a GaAs-based multiferroic heterostructure: MnAl/GaAs/C[O.sub.2]PMN-PT

Abstract
- A strong magnetoelectric (ME) interaction is described in a magnetostrictive-semiconductor-piezoelectric heterostructure consisting of the Huesler alloy, [Co.sub.2]MnAl, GaAs, and lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate (PMN-PT). A large ME coupling is obtained and static magnetization measurement has shown a reduction in the remanence magnetization while applying the electric field, which has corroborated the ME interactions mediated by the translation of magnetoelastic forces in this structure.
