Abstract
- One of the primary considerations in quality mechanical measurement is selecting the right sensor to fit into the type of measurement desired. Sensors, such as thermocouples, convert mechanical property to an electrical value. However, sensors need signal-conditioning circuits to work when hooked into a measurement system such as a computer-controlled, electronic data-acquisition system. Resistance-temperature detectors and bonded-resistance strain gages are among the most popularly used sensors.
