Abstract
- Cobalt ferrite nanoparticles are suspended in the polymer liquid crystal hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC)/m-cresol to obtain a new type of ferronematic. Magnetic measurements performed on HPC/m-cresol/cobalt ferrite ferronematic have indicated the appearance of ferromagnetic behavior and magnetic hysteresis and rheometry has showed magnetorheological effect upon application of a dc magnetic field.
