Abstract
- A randomized study investigates the combined effects of aerobic training for 12 weeks and montelukast or placebo on bronchial responsiveness (BHR) to methacholine, exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) and asthma aggravations in children with mild asthma. Results indicate that the intervention is beneficial to children with mild asthma, with exercise training decreasing BHR to methacholine and montelukast also decreasing bronchial reactivity and preventing asthma aggravations.
