Abstract

Underground Railroad is an inconspicuous two-bedroom apartment in Baghdad, Iraq that serves as a refuge for abused Iraqi women. The women's support network was founded in 2004 by Yanar Mohammed, head of the Organization of Women FreedomEs Freedom. Women rescued by Underground were violence and rape victims, while others escaped honor killing.
