Abstract
- Research was conducted to examine the structure and in vitro function of human subcutaneous small arteries in mild heart failure. Isolated-peripheral small arteries from patients treated for cardiac failure after myocardial infarction were analyzed. Morphology and isometric tension were measured by mounting dissected arterial vessels on a wire myograph. Data obtained indicate that vascular structure and function do not exhibit differences in vitro in subcutaneous arteries from patients treated with placebo for mild cardiac failure.
