Abstract

Online Computer Library Center's (OCLC) different advisory committees play major roles in the creation of OCLC policies and programs. All four advisory groups work together to shape the OCLC's programs and policies that correspond to the needs of each committee. The Research Libraries Advisory group helps the OCLC identify specific programs and create priorities for their implementation. The Advisory Committee on Public Libraries creates programs for public library directors. The Advisory Committees on College and University Libraries and Special Libraries focus on academic libraries and on medical, law, corporate and theological libraries, respectively.
