Abstract

The assembly of Rh[(CO).sub.2]Cl(amine) via molecular orbital symmetry interactions has resulted in the formation of one-dimensional molecular wires. This discovery is applied not only for preparing more diverse one-dimensional molecular wires via the introduction of predesigned amines but also for gaining an understanding of the physical properties of molecular metals.
