Planning for aviation and diversification on small rural airfields in England and Wales

A number of Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) notes have been passed to regulate aviation in small rural airfields in England and Wales. PPG 13 places restrictions on transport and aviation functions and sets limits on acceptable levels of airfield diversification. PPG 24, on the other hand, restricts incoming and outgoing airplanes from flying directly over villages located around airfields with the aim of developing 'noise abatement zones.'
