Abstract

Discourse plays an important role in the management process. However, academics and practicing managers often undervalue and take for granted the subordination of discourse over action in management. Hence the need for an alternative conceptualization of the role and status of discourse in management. In doing this, false assumptions about discourse and action are addressed.
