Abstract
- Demethylation of (octamethoxyphthalocyaninato)nickel(II) was done to prepare (2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octahydroxyphthalocyaninato)nickel(II) (NiPc(OH)8). NiPc(OH)8 was treated with Tp(super Cum,Me)Zn(OH) to investigate the coordination properties of peripheral catechol sites. Broadened proton NMR resonances for arms of the Tp(super Cum,Me) ligands point to a chelated structure for the Zn atoms of (NMe4)4(NiPc(O2ZnTp(super Cum,Me))4).
