Reappearance of the minor alpha-sarcomeric actins in postnatal muscle

Research indicates that the maturation of postnatal striated muscle involves an additional development stage involving minor alpha-sarcomeric actins. Experiments using postnatal skeletal and cardiac muscle tissue from rodents are reported. Postnatal expression profiles of alpha-sarcomeric actin transcripts and protein concentrations were identified using Western and Northern blot analysis techniques.
