Abstract

A study was conducted to examine the phylogeny of Nevskia ramosa through the use of ribosomal RNA approach. The gene of the neuston bacteria that were described as a rod-shaped, slightly bent bacteria forming typical flat rosettes in the surface of their habitat, was cloned. Results revealed that the ribosomal RNA sequence of the bacteria was closely related and similar to that of the Xanthomonas species and its relatives.
