Defusing a time bomb

Executive director of the Government's year 2000 department, Taskforce 2000, Robin Guenier does not believe that the millennium bug is a problem worth worrying about in relation to domestic appliances. He is annoyed at the insurance companies that have started to disclaim liability for millennium failure of burglar alarm and heating control systems, arguing that they are causing confusion and distracting from the main message. Dixons/Currys/PC World have tested literally thousands of appliances, including products stocked some years ago, and do not expect any big problems at all.
