Abstract
- Increasing the temperatures in the vulcanization process causes undesirable results including the production of rubber with lower crosslink density plus reduced physical properties and performance. A study analyzes the effects of higher curing temperature on several compounds. New developments include the use of 1,3 bis(citraconimidomethyl benzene) for crosslink compensation.<br />The rubber industry is continually striving to improve productivity and reduce unit manufacturing costs while maintaining a high level of product quality and performance.
