Abstract

A study was conducted to investigate the indirect determination of self-exchange electron transfer rate constants in acetonitrile with 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate. Stopped-flow spectrophotometry was carried out at 25 degrees C to analyze study reactions. Results indicated activation-limiated values for low barrier aromatic compounds. Findings also showed that radical cations become deprotonated to alpha-hydrazinyl radicals during longer reactions.
