Abstract
- Eight novel alpha-pyrrolidinonate- and alpha-pyridonate-bridged, homo- and mixed-valence, di- and tetranuclear cis-diammineplatinum complexes were prepared and characterized via X-ray diffraction methods. The chiral HT-Pt(2.0+)2 molecules obtained exhibited spontaneous resolution and were later found to be a mixture of blue and tan (Pt(2.25+)4 and Pt(2.5+)4). The axial coordination characteristics of the Pt(2.5+)4 tetramer was evident in the structure in two of the complexes isolated.
