Unemployment remains atop list of national concerns

A Gallup survey performed Jan 22-27, 1998, showed that although fewer Canadians believe unemployment to be the nation's primary problem, it continues to be their top concern. Of those polled, 32% feel unemployment is a priority, a 12% drop from 44% prior to the federal election of 1997. Unemployment's citation margin is more than double the second most-listed concern, the nation's economy.
