The gender gap in insurance coverage for women's reproductive health

State legislators nationwide are debating issues related to reproductive health such as the necessity of coverage of contraception in an insurance policy. The provision of equitable insurance coverage of prescription contraception is being considered by an increasing number of states in what is considered a favorable trend. The necessity for such legislation and some of the problems that advocates and lawmakers have experienced in attempting to pass this legislation are discussed.
