Speaker's tie to firm cited in lawsuit

HRPT Properties Trust of Newton, Massachusetts has filed a federal lawsuit against Hawaii claiming that a law has narrow application to HRPT and hinders private contract negotiations. The law originated from a bill introduced by Hawaii House Speaker Calvin Say, and his link to Warabeya U.S.A., Inc. is mentioned in the lawsuit. A company that pays rent to HRPT leases a building to Warabeya.
