Diagnostic test could save costs and lives

Massachusetts Children's Hospital is developing a diagnostic test using Thermo Fisher Scientific equipment which could reduce hospital costs, eliminate unnecessary surgery and even save lives by providing diagnosis before an appendix operation. Mass spectrometry is believed the key to the safer and cheaper diagnostic tool. Insights on the use of mass spectrometry are also given.
