- A new review of treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in pediatric patients offers guidance to clinicians challenged by which treatment strategies to pursue for young patients who remain symptomatic. Authors of [...]<br />* Standard CBT or SSRI treatments alone or in combination are effective in most OCD patients. * Potential barriers to treatment response include comorbidities, inadequate CBT or medication, family factors. * For treatment-resistant OCD, the clinician should thoroughly review the case, including initial diagnosis, comorbidities, and environment. * Low-dose atypical antipsychotic augmentation may be helpful.
