Abstract

Microarrays are used for studying the mineralization of the most common oxysterol, 7-ketocholesterol (7KC), Rhodococcus jostii RHA1. The growth on 7KC versus growth on cholesterol has resulted in many differentially expressed genes, including the upregulation of two large gene clusters putatively encoding steroid catabolism.
