Abstract

The extraordinary transmission regime well into the ultraviolet (UV) range is achieved by using subwavelength slits carved on semiconductor substrates. The results are important in high resolution photolithography, near-field optical devices and ultrahigh density optical storage in wavelength ranges, where it is not possible to use more traditional plasmonic materials like noble metals.
