Bubbling with enthusiasm: a love chemistry has taken Richard Zare in many directions throughout his long career

Chemist Richard Zare is honored with the 2010 Priestley Medal by the American Chemical Society. Zare entered Harvard thinking he might be a math major but he majored in chemistry and physics. Zare also took a job at MIT but left for the University of Colorado after he found himself stymied in what he wanted to do.
