Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate the accuracy of dried blood spot (DBS) real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays in the screening of newborn infants with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. Results indicated that the screening method had lower sensitivity and thus was limited in its scope.
