Exposing the exposome

Scientists look to the potential of exposomes in advancing personalized and preventive medicine considering that genomes have not yet provided clues about the causes of human disease. Exposomes refer to records of environmental, infection-, and stress-related exposures an individual receives throughout his or her lifetime. Methods that have been proposed to study exposomes are described.
