Abstract

The study aims to investigate and describe the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy among diabetic adults in the United States aged 40 years or older during the period of 2005 to 2008. The results indicate that the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy and other vision-threatening retinopathy was high in the case of such individuals, especially among non-Hispanic African-American individuals.
