Abstract

Magnetostrictive property, magnetostriction saturation field [H.sub.s], and piezomagnetic coefficient [d.sub.33] are examined in [Fe.sub.81][Ga.sub.19] alloy under high compressive prestress. The high magnetostriction and low saturation field under high prestress has shown that Fe-Ga alloy is a good candidate for high load application.
