French strikers protest higher retirement age

More than a million protesters in France participated in strikes against the proposed raising of the nation's retirement age, a part of President Nicolas Sarkozy's agenda for reducing France's deficit. This was the country's fourth strike in a month, and affected the Eiffel Tower, schools, transportation, and ports.
