Abstract

A study was conducted to show how managerial routines can be used to transform capabilities into competitive advantages within professional service firms (PSFs). Findings indicate that PSFs' innovations are routine and are mainly reactive. The conflict between external demands and internal utilization of capabilities within companies is also explained.
